Please help me redecorate my kitchen and dining room!

Miss Beethoven and I would like to redecorate our kitchen and dining room.

This is a picture of the kitchen and dining room taken from the living room. As you can see, the doorway is quite wide, and this means the kitchen and dining room need to coordinate with the living room.

The kitchen (on a messy day)...

and the dining room...

The border that I have has a lot of bright sunflowers on it. It would go well with sage green and cream (the colors recommended on the label) but it would also work with forest green or cranberry.

We currently have several rooms that have the border running through the middle of the wall, but I'm open to new ideas on this too.

What would you do? Should I leave the walls light on top and dark on bottom, or should I do something new and exciting?

  1. Hmm...I love cranberry on walls, especially with the color of wood in your kitchen. BUT that might clash with the blue in your living room. Sage would blend more nicely with your living room. I would probably do away with the border completely, but if you love it, and don't want to change your living room (blue) too, then I'd pick sage. I have both the cranberry and the sage going on in my home. :) You can see what the solid cranberry looks like if you view my school room pics, as it's all over my formal dining room. I love color on the walls! :) The darker the color, the more coats of paint you'll need, though.

  2. Keniki, what did you decide to do on your walls?

  3. I ended up with something along the line of sage green and no border. I actually used a couple of different shades of green, and of course, the one I used least ended up being the one I like best. Oh well, that's the way it goes sometimes. Now it's time to paint a bedroom. DS can help me figure out what to do with it. ;-)
